Mamluk Appliquéed Hat - Details

Close up views of the embroidery along the brim of the cap and near the peak, making clearer the use of

  • running stitch quilting in red
  • back stitch outlining in white and yellow
  • button hole stitch eyelets in medium and light blue, red, white, yellow, and black
  • uncounted cross stitches (which appear to me to be a form of long armed cross) in alternating black and white or red and white
  • multi-colored finishing at bottom of cap

The piecing and appliqué work are also more visible in these details.
